All in all a fairly painless process. I originally went down and asked at the information desk as I was needing 4 certificates. (2 for licenses, 1 for transferring a vehicle, and one because the bank asked for it (not a basic savings account)).
Once you’ve got all the relevant documents together and got down to immigration at the government complex it’s a fairly swift process. They’ll check all your documents and give you a receipt and your passport back. It only took about an hour most of that was waiting till my number was called. They’ll said it would be posted to that address and it arrived in 4 days.

TLDR : Answer Summary
To obtain a certificate of residence with a DTV visa in Bangkok, you need several documents including your passport, copies of your passport and entry stamp, an E visa printout, a lease agreement, and TM30 printout. The process at the immigration office is straightforward, usually taking about an hour. The certificate will be mailed to your address within four days.
Thanks! If I am living with my fiancé, do I get the TM 30 from the website? I used to register my arrival when I come to Bangkok or is that something else that I have to get?
