Is it still possible to extend Non O visa based on marriage? I have had the visa before but never extended it.

TLDR : Answer Summary
Yes, it is possible to extend your Non O visa based on marriage to a Thai national. To do so, you'll need your passport, copies of your visa and entry stamp, proof of sufficient funds, your marriage certificate, and your spouse present during the application. Different immigration offices may have varying requirements, so it’s advisable to check in advance with the immigration office you intend to visit.

I'm closing comments:

1. Different immigration offices have different requirements. The list I post says "Different immigration offices have different requirements, and this may include" - "MAY" means "it could, or could not be a requirement".

2. If you're being asked to provide something unreasonable for a one year extension of stay based on marriage (like children's birth certificates, etc), gently push back with immigration, and ask for the handout showing the requirements.

Good morning, I also need to apply for the extension of my one year visa based on marriage. I stay in Phu Kradueng that is in Loei Province but I'm near to Khoen Kaen than Chiang Khan were the Loei immigration office is located. I must apply in Chiang Khan (were I got my marriage visa before) or I can go to Khoen Kaen?

doesn't matter which one is closer. You go to the office that controls the area you live in.

I'd say IF you live at the same address where you got your marriage visa before and you used Chiang Khan then that's where you go for your extension.

Call the Khon Kaen Immigration office, (04-330-6642) give them your address and they'll tell you if you can use them or not

, you go to Chaengwattana Section L to get any extension on a Non-O based on marriage. You can either apply for a 60 day visit thai family extension (which you can get once per entry), or you apply for a year extension OR at this time you could get a 60 day covid extension.

To get a one year extension of stay based on marriage to a female Thai national, you will need the following:

1. Your passport and a copy of:

- Your data ("picture") page

- Your Non-O visa

- Your entry stamp

- Your departure card

2. Your wife PHYSICALLY next to you, and

- Her ID card and a copy of her ID card

- Her housebook, and a copy of the first page

3. To meet the money requirements, which are:

- 400K THB in a Thai bank account, seasoned for 2 months OR;

- 40K THB in income OR;

- a letter from your embassy saying you make 40K THB a month (if you're from a country that allows the letter, you can not show income. Not all embassies offer this letter)

4. Marriage certificate (either the rose border certificate, OR a translated copy from your home country)

5. The application form

6. 2x passport pictures

7. 1,900 THB for the processing fee.

Different immigration offices have different requirements, and this may include:

- A copy of the TM30 filed where you live

- A hand drawn map to your house

- Pictures of you and your wife in various locations in the house (front of the house/ condo, in all rooms, etc)

- Witnesses or interviews with neighbors

- Rental contract (if renting property or a condo)

What immigration office are you using?

You can get TWO different types of 60 day extension of stays:

1. A 60 day extension of stay based on unable to travel due to COVID-19

2. A 60 day extension of stay based on visiting Thai Family.

You can only get ONE 60 day extension of stay based on visiting Thai family per entry.

You can get as many 60 day extension of stay based on unable to travel due to COVID-19, as long as immigration is selling them.

Get a 60 day extension of stay based on unable to travel due to COVID-19 BEFORE getting a 60 day extension of stay based on visiting Thai family.
