Hello everyone.

How much is a Retirement visa on average right now?

This includes multiple entries and exits and opening a bank account.

I live in Jomtien and have an Australian passport.

Also, can you give a reliable company name?

Again, how long does it take to return the passport?

Thank you in advance .

TLDR : Answer Summary
The cost of a retirement visa in Thailand, often referred to as a Non O visa, varies. For those already holding a Non O visa, the DIY process costs approximately 1,900 baht for a 12-month extension, with an additional 3,800 baht for a multiple-entry permit. For first-time applicants, the cost can reach around 26,000 baht through an agency, while yearly extensions are about 12,500 baht. The passport processing time varies, but using an agent can streamline this process. Reliable agencies mentioned include Maneerat and J&E Concierge. It's important to also account for re-entry permits, which are essential if you plan to exit and re-enter Thailand.

Yes if you apply in your home country at the Thai Embassy you can obtain an OA visa which is for one year. However, if you step out of Thailand a few days before the OA visa expires and re-enter you will be stamped back in for another year effectively getting 2 years off the one visa. I have done this before..twice. Just be sure to get a re-entry permit ( 1000 baht ) at the departing Thai airport before you step on the plane..otherwise you won't get back in.

... I'm apply for non-O, but not sure I need to exit thailand in the next 1.5 years...

By default, does a non-O visa come with a single re-entry?... I'm assuming not...

I heard that the single or multiple re-entry permits can also be purchased at international airports in thailand, Correct?

Yep. Single entry Non Imm O visa, commonly known as a 'retirement visa'

@Steve ******
I thought the Non Imm OA was the 'retirement visa'

@Mark *******
The OA is also often referred to as a retirement visa but the commonly used 'retirement visa' is the Non Imm O, it's issued for many reasons, ie being over 50(retirement), marriage, dependancy and volunteering. The irony is there's NO official retirement visa and you dont need to be retired to get the Non Imm O or the OA.

This is through an agency .

I use Maneerat in Soi Post Office.

Off beach Road Pattaya.

They take care of all the 90 day reporting in the price.

You can do yourself if you have the necessary funds.

Upto you as the thai lady says .

DIY is Do It Yourself at an immigration office. There's no average price. It's 2000 baht for the visa, and 1900 if you already have the 90-day Non-O for a 12 month extension

DIY is 1,900 baht (if you already have a Non O - 2,000 extra if you don’t) plus 3,800 baht for the multiple entry permit.

Check the admin of the group for their prices.

30+30 finishing . And i am going Cambodia for new visa. Then i will apply for retirement visa. I couldn't understand how it is related with my questions

From your post it seemed that you were looking for an agent to do stuff for you. I was merely pointing out that you could DIY - do it yourself and the relevant costs associated with that.

30+30 comment infers that you are from a visa exempt country. If so then if you had no visa then you’d now get 45 days on entry visa exempt. For most offices to convert that to a in country Non Immigrant O visa you’d need at least 21 days (15 for some) left an a current stamp to start the process. Happy to walk you through the steps needed if you’d like. Would be handy to know what immigration office you’d intend to use in case there are specifics with that particular office.

Hi Stuart Cumming ... I'm waiting for my new passport, which should arrive about 10 days before the Visa step expires. Unfortunately, I only noticed I was lacking the 6th month validity too late. 🙄 My bad...

So what options are there t o convert my 45 day entry visa to a Non-O?

Since I'm past the 15-21 days left, It looks like I have to EITHER:

1. get another 45 day Visa OR

2. pay B1,900 for a Visa and extension

... and THEN apply for the non-o, correct?

3. Maybe an agent can get it done with out exciting thailand still

Any other options?

I'm unfamiliar with some of the terminology you use. For example "DIY" "Non O" I would appreciate it if you could explain. Because I'm still very new and I'm trying to learn

@Vaner ******
Apologies for the acronyms. I forget that some don’t know the terms. Others have stated what I meant.
