Approx cost and time frame to convert tourist visa to retirement visa? Am 51yo Brit, and have sufficient funds in Thai account (KrungSri) to fulfill requirements.

The cost of the Non Immigrant O visa based on being over 50 years of age is 2.000 Thb at Immigration Office. The time frame is depending on how many people are in front of you. But the actual application takes about 15 to 30 minutes. Than it goes under consideration for 15 or 21 days depending on the Immigration Office. After these days you can collect the stamp in your passport.

You can convert inside Thailand, or apply for the visa at any Thai Consulate or Embassy. You have to meet their requirements and it differ at Immigration and Consulates.
