TLDR : Answer Summary
To obtain a retirement visa (known as the NON-O Visa) in Thailand, it is possible if you meet certain requirements. The initial cost is generally 2000 baht for the visa application, plus an extension fee of 1900 baht if you are applying for a yearly extension of stay. You will need to have 800,000 THB in a Thai bank account and should submit your application more than 15 days before your current visa expires. For more detailed requirements, you can refer to specific immigration websites.
NON-O RETIREMENT VISA RESOURCES / SERVICES
  • Go to the Retirement Visa Section for information on requirements, including age restrictions, financial requirements, and necessary documentation.
  • For immediate assistance, contact Thai Visa Centre directly via LINE at @ThaiVisaCentre or Email them.
  • Explore recent discussions by using the Non-O Retirement Visa tag in the search box at the top of the page.
  • Join the Thai Visa Advice Facebook Group to ask your questions, and get advice from others.

Note that you need to submit your application with more than 15 days left on your entry stamp and also have 800k THB in a Thai bank. Hence a good idea to arrive with plenty of time on a 60 day tourist visa.

Open bank account.

Transfer money.

Submit non-o 90 day application 2000THB

Season money 2 months

Submit year extension 1900THB
