Hi , I arrived in Thailand on a 60day E Visa , August 18th , I have been to my local Immigration Office and gained a thirty day extension which allows me to remain until 16-11-24 , as long as it’s before 16th can I leave Thailand by land boarder to Loas , return the same day and gain another 60days , also if yes are these 60days from the 16th or from the day I do the boarder run ?? TIA…

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquired about the possibility of leaving Thailand by land to Laos for the day to obtain an additional 60 days on their visa. According to comments, exiting Thailand by the 16th is necessary. The outcome of the border run may depend on the specific border crossing and whether staying overnight is required. Upon re-entry, a new 60-day visa exemption stamp will be granted, effective from the re-entry date.

Not done this myself before but doing soon.

Will the Thai immigration on the Nong Khai side stamp you out?

, are you aware OP is in Udon Thani? Ranong border is unlikely convenient for him.

FYI any border bounce to Myanmar funds the military coupe. If possible, choose other options.

There are few if any reports about bouncing at Nong Khai on your own and whether you have to stay out a day or not.

I know now at the two Lao borders in Chiang Rai province you have to stay out overnight (used to be 2 nights out of thailand)

Like Phil said, plan on being out at least a day πŸ™‚

Hi Tod, I went with a Danish friend 2-3 weeks ago. Similar situation.

No problem at all coming back the same day and got stamped in 60 days.

You have until ON or before the 16th to exit thailand

Now can you go to the Lao border, exit/re-enter the same day?

That's gonna depend on what border you go to and whether you go with a service or by yourself.

SOME borders with Lao require you to spend a night out of thailand to get back in.

When you exit this stamp you're on now cancels.

You will get a free entry 60 day visa exempt stamp when you re-entry thailand and it will be dated from the date you stamp back IN. (as in it has nothing to do with the stamp you have now)

@Mark ********
Not in my experience. I went with a Danish friend 2-3 weeks ago.

No problem at all coming back the same day and he got stamped in 60 days.
Phil ******
Allow 2 days then
@Mark ********
. My original comment has removed for some reason. I read your not out of Bangkok. Good luck

@Mark ********
nope wouldn't have any idea πŸ˜•

ask them when you stamp out if you can come right back or not

They'll tell you πŸ™‚ worst case you spend a night in Lao πŸ˜‰
