Hi all. Just got married today. I’m going back to US for a couple of months on April 1st. Plan to come back in June or July. Based on previous advice, I’m thinking it would be best to go to Savannakhet and get a 1yr ME nonO/marriage visa before I leave. My other option I guess would be to come back on a tourist visa or exemption and go get the non O afterwards. Your thoughts? Thank you!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The poster recently got married and plans to travel back to the US, considering getting a 1-year ME Non-O marriage visa in Savannakhet before departing. Comments agree that acquiring the Non-O visa before returning to the US is advisable to avoid concerns about reentry.

I'd say there is no down side to getting the year long, multi-entry Non-O from Savannakhet BEFORE you go back to the USA

At least when you come back you're coming on a Non-O VISA not comin' in on a 30 day visa exempt or tourist visa.

Get it before you go..

Keep it simple...go to Savannakhet. That way no worries re reentry when returning from USA.

BTW ... Congratulations
