TLDR : Answer Summary
This discussion highlights the importance of obtaining health insurance while in Thailand, particularly for expats on retirement or tourist visas. One commenter mentioned difficulties in getting coverage after age 70, emphasizing the need for age considerations in insurance policies. Several suggestions included seeking local insurance companies that provide coverage for international residents and sharing personal experiences with policy costs.

@Michael ******
there are insurers that will insure you with exclusions if you have any pre-existing medical conditions and/or claim waiting periods relating to certain old age ailments. Suggest you try an insurance broker.
