TLDR : Answer Summary
The post discusses various options for health insurance in Thailand, indicating that the best choice depends on an individual's circumstances like age and health history. Several commenters suggest looking for quotes online and mention specific providers such as Luma Health, Pacific, and Cigna Global. There's also a discussion about the challenges older expats may face when seeking coverage. One user offers personal assistance in obtaining quotes, and another recommends a personal insurance agent.

Don't panic it won't happen for Farangs already living here with retire visas..
Medical insurance is ok if you're young and in perfect health but not easy to get when over 65 . health insurance is not mandatory for existing retires in Thailand yet . only if you apply for a retirement visa in your own country and if implemented on existing retires it will be a disastrous for old Farangs . this government needs to think good and hard about this .....

Depends on your individual circumstances. Eg age, history , cover you want, etc.
exactly-- there are a number of reputable medical insurance companies, but many assume because it's thailand, u can buy great coverage cheaply-' simply not true-- more cheaply tha n back home, probably, but still not cheap. And has been shared, so much depends on individual circumstances, age and medical history, being the key factors . Pre-existing conditions will not be covered, or covered with an additional surcharge. some will tout this or thsst which provides great and all-encompassing coverage for a very inexpensive premium. well, the old adage applies: if it seems too good to be true....
with insurance, like so many things, the devil is in the details. review all plan benefits, understand any deductibles and exclusions, and know that minkmal maximums won't last long at a chosen hospital.
google and search this group for recommended company names, but also remember, medical insurance companies are "for profit" outfits, they are not your friend.
