Hi all, more about health than visa but the experienced here will probably have good input. Has any body had first hand experience with WR life health cover. Ideally has anyone actually had a claim, how did it go ? For context I am 65 male, had cancer 7 years ago but have a letter from my UK surgeon/Dr confirming that I am now cancer free and have been for over six years so it's not an existent issue and I have no other medical issues at this time.

Thank you for any experience you may b e able to share.
Answer summary
The discussion revolves around the experiences of expats in Thailand with WR Life health insurance, particularly regarding claims and coverage for those with a history of cancer. Several participants share their insights, noting that while WR Life has provided satisfactory service for some, concerns about their regulation and handling of pre-existing conditions, especially cancer, are prevalent. Recommendations include carefully reviewing policy terms and considering the insurer's reputation before making decisions. There are mixed reviews concerning the willingness to cover pre-existing conditions and overall experiences, indicating that potential policyholders should conduct careful research.

Many thanks for all your replies, I didn't want to reach out to a company if they had high percentage I'd bad reviews but seems that they are a possible option. If anyone has any better companies that they have actually claimed from I would be grateful for the infi,

Have a good evening all

It's good that you're asking about claims, because that's one of the most important things to look at when choosing health insurance.

Beyond whether a company pays claims, I'd also recommend checking their policy wording carefully, especially regarding pre-existing conditions, cancer history, exclusions, waiting periods, and renewal terms.

Since you've been cancer-free for over 6 years and have medical documentation to support that, it's definitely worth discussing your specific situation with the insurer before making a decision.

I'm an insurance agent and work with expats here in Thailand, so I see these questions come up quite often. Hopefully someone with direct claim experience with WR Life can share their experience.

If you have any questions or if there's anything I can help clarify, feel free to send me a message. I'm happy to help.

wr life have been fine for me covering surgeries but as all companies don’t cover pre existing but they do offer moratorium protection after the first five years coverage. should i have complications linked to my diabetes i am now covered, and they cover upto 99 years of age.

WRlife are not regulated by Thai or UK authorities. Their Insurance licence is in St.Kitts, and though they claim to be a UK Insurance company are not registered with The UK FSA. If you have any claims dispute you have no regulatory authority to take the matter up with.

Even though you are now Cancer free it is a pre-existing and most Thai Health Companies will exclude cover for pre-existing.

I've been with them for 3+ years, with no issues. But very few companies will cover preexisting conditions. You should ask them direct.

I had them for 3 years now. Have no negative experiences but so far no claims from my side. They are despite the person above claims not a scam. However, they are hard on preexisting conditions. If you had cancer earlier you might not be accepted.
