What happens to my retirement visa duration if I leave Thailand for three months on an exit re-entry visa?

Hi and good morning to everyone. I’m here on a retirement visa and still do consultancy work abroad. I recently had to go to Qatar for 3 months. When I left, I got an exit re-entry visa and returned 89 days later. My question is, what happens to those theee months, do you lose 3 months or is your retirement visa extended by 3 months?

Thanks in advance.

TLDR : Answer Summary
When leaving Thailand on a retirement visa and using an exit re-entry permit, the duration of your visa does not extend based on the time spent outside the country. In this case, you have effectively 'lost' the three months you were away, as the re-entry permit only keeps your allowed stay date intact.

Can I get a credit for each day I don't watch Netflix ?

I don't think so. If you don't use it you generally loose it, but might be worth reading all the fine print. There may be a loophole.

that's good to know.

You lose them other wise everyone would be leaving the country and coming back when they please to keep the visa alive and never having to renew
Steve *******
You "lost them" not being in the Country.

The re-entry permit only keeps your “allowed to stay” date alive. It doesn’t alter that date. So unfortunately you’ve “lost” those 3 months.
