I am on my one-year extension of non-immigration over 50 “retirement” visa due to expire early October 2019. I realize that if I stay in country I have to report every 90 days. But if I leave Thailand for six months or even 11 months is there any problem with re-entering Thailand or keeping my one-year visa extension active or getting a new one year over 50 extension next year Until October 2020? I have a multi-re-entry permit that expires Oct 2019. Do I have to maintain a permenant Thai apt address while I am out of the country for 6 mos or more of traveling?

TLDR : Answer Summary
If you leave Thailand with a multi-re-entry permit, you do not need to report your 90-day status while outside the country. Upon re-entering, your extension of stay will remain valid and will carry the expiration date stamped in your passport. Additionally, you are not required to maintain a permanent address in Thailand while traveling abroad for six months or more.

You report that you are 90 days or longer inside Thailand. If you leave Thailand you are not inside Thailand so no need to report. If you have a re-entry permit you will get the same date on entry as the Extension of stay is permitted up to date stamped in your passport. You do not have to maintain an address in Thailand.

No, and if they ask just explain them. Iḿ retired and like to travel and see more parts of Thailand and the world.

So the rental agreement you need to apply for this visa/extension does not have to be for one year?
