Hi group, 

I will renew my retirement visa this week with single reentry , and my passport is still valid for 13 months.  Once Home in Belgium, I will get a new passport.  What will happen with my non O visa and the extensions ?  How will this be transferred in my home country?  Thank you for your answer. Regards, Luc

When I renewed my Belgium passport in Thailand 8 months ago the Belgium embassy returned my old passport and gave me a letter explaining why they issued a new passport to give to Thai immigration. Take your old and new passports and the letter to immigration and they will transfer all the information necessary for your retirement visa

If you get a new passport back in your home country, MAKE SURE you can keep your old passport. You'll need to bring both of them with you when you return to Thailand so they can transfer the Non-O to your new passport. In the US, if you get a new passport inside the USA, you cannot keep your old passport.

If this is the case in Belgium, get a new passport from your embassy BEFORE you leave thailand.

you ALWAYS get to keep your old invalidated US passport no matter where in the world you renew it. Why do you think otherwise?

Luc Segers Yes, immigration when you arrive. Fly on your new passport and present both when you arrive in Bangkok. It takes 5 minutes, they just put a new stamp into your passport. Same if you're leaving with a new passport.
