Hi! What happens to your DTV visa if you get laid off from your job?
My work has been heavily financially impacted by the tariff changes. What happens to your 5 year DTV visa if you lose your job during that time? It’s getting harder to find remote work.

TLDR : Answer Summary
If you lose your job while on a 5-year Digital Nomad Visa (DTV) in Thailand, you generally do not face immediate consequences as long as you met the visa requirements when you applied. The current situation allows you to maintain your visa while traveling and not seeking extensions or 90-day reporting within Thailand. However, if you attempt to extend your visa while in the country, it could become problematic. Some suggestions include leaving the country and re-entering to manage your visa status without complications. Overall, Thai immigration is not actively monitoring job statuses for DTV visa holders.
90 DAY REPORTING RESOURCES / SERVICES
Use the trusted Thailand 90 Day Reporting Serviceto get your in-person report done and mailed to you for as low as 375 THB (even if the online system doesn't work for you).
For immediate assistance, contact Thai Visa Centre directly via LINE at @ThaiVisaCentre or Email them.
As long as you don't tell immigration, they won't know. And as of now, they don't check any details when entering the country, so just don't do extensions.
Go back to home country and get a job. But, Sadly, getting a job seems to be very tough now and employers are giving up offering remote work. Those days are dissapearing. Start a YouTube channel and be like the other 40 million ex oats here and live off if that..anywhere from 0 to 5000 usd a month.
Right now it would only hit you if you try to get an extension inside the country. Getting a new stamp by leaving/reenter doesn't require the complete paperwork... not yet... 🙄🤔
