Having a regular employment where I am do rotations of sometimes different timeframe. Going home every so often (Thailand) 

Will I qualify for the DTV visa?

No problems showing finances and employment contract etc.

You must provide employment contract / letter categorically stating you are a remote worker as part of the DTV requirement.

Otherwise go through the soft power route.

DTV is not about rotations such as offshore work. Its about doing remote work while being in Thailand for a company outside Thailand and doing no business in Thailand. There are also soft control options such as long term medical treatment etc.

I understand. My problem is that I no longer have the option "Non O 1 year multiple" And to my understanding reading other posts it will be a matter or entries into Thailand before they start asking why I don't hold a visa

I know a guy who also is working abroad (offshore). He is younger then 50 and he got himself a elite visa. But that was when it was much cheaper.

If you would normally could get a Non O multiple then you can still get a Non O 90 days single entry in Thailand and get a yearly extension and add a multiple reentry permit for 3800B.
