I’ve got no plans that far in advance just curious as 5 years is a long time.. the last 5 years I lived in Bangkok 2019 for 2.5 years and Sydney for 2.5 years before moving back to LTOS!

Based on my experience with the STV, if they remove it then it will be after the initial 5 years

Nobody knows, it's new. Nobody has extended for the first time yet, who knows what's needed to extend.... Not even immigration knows yet what's needed to extend.

Unless something very unusual changes drastically, then yes.. it's a 5 year multi entry visa, you should be able to come and go for the next 5 years.

I believe you inferred that the visa is void if not used... that's correct. But those reading your reply may think if not used within a certain number of days following departing Thailand for reentry into Thailand, then the visa becomes void.

The government changes rules all the time. So just keep that in mind. I'm not even looking into the DTV in too much detail right now, because I won't need it until next June, and everything could be different by then.
