I have a 3 month non o based on kids. Is it 2 or 3 months extension I can get without 400k in the bank?

Can you confirm I need only kids birth certificates and rental contract?

Do I need any tm30 stuff?

Also would I be able to get a non b (for work) easily at a neighbouring country after this?

Thanks in advance.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is inquiring about extending their 3-month Non-O visa based on having Thai children. They want to confirm whether they can get a 2 or 3-month extension without needing 400,000 baht in the bank, what documents are required (specifically kids' birth certificates and a rental contract), if a TM30 form is necessary, and if they can obtain a Non-B visa easily in a neighboring country afterward. Responses indicate a likely 60-day extension is possible based on family ties, requiring only proof of being a father without needing parental rights or proof of funds. It's advisable to check local immigration requirements and gather necessary documentation before proceeding.

And as this isn't going to turn into a how to guide to get parental rights granted when you have half thai kids out of wedlock we're done.

The O/P has the information to get a 60 day extension based on being the father of half thai children, and that extension does not require parental rights or proof of funds. Hopefully in the 60 days they get from that extension they can sort out the parental rights issue and then apply for a yearly extension at their immigration office.

Good Luck (y)

, you are highly unlikely to get it done from an Amphur in a single day.

Sheesh at this point in time you don't even know what documentation you need there.

Here's a thought, how about going to the Amphur this week and seeing what is required OR if that Amphur can even do parental rights awards and how old the children have to be at that Amphur before they will do it.

nicely done. You got the parental rights in a few weeks. Great job. Good luck with the application for 1 year Extension of Stay, you do not need your own birth certificate

Yes and yes, Bangkok might be a little bit busy because a lot of people living there, Just visit a small farmers village in Isaan or go far south to find a small local Amphur. Or use the search function on this page, so we do not have to explain it all again.

we explained that all a few weeks ago and if he thinks he can get now the 1 year Extension he must have the parental rights or forget all we advised him. I see the positive things.

Oh, I didn't realize he'd been granted parental rights :/ Then he could get a year extension IF he met the proof of funds 400K baht in a thai bank in his name only and had the correct documentation ..

if I get a 12 month extension do I need my own birth certificate?

there is no default office :O you have to use the immigration office that serves the area where you live.

AFAIK 100% you WILL need a TM30 receipt along with the birth certificates, house book listings, and of course bring the kids with you.

60 day extension based on visiting family

No idea what's actually required because you neglected to say what immigration office out of the 70+ offices in the country you'll use for the extension. So I suggest you go to your local immigration office BEFORE you need to apply for the extension and get the list of documents you'll need for the extension. It does not require proof of funds.

As far as will you be able to get a Non-B visa in a neighboring country's thai consulate, that totally depends on the documentation your future employer provides you. If their documentation is good, you won't have a problem at most consulates.
