It means you filled along application incorrectly, probably missing or wrong data from passport

yes, everything they demanded was provided, they were having no reason to reject, just cancelled the application

Usually applications are cancelled for technical reasons, like incorrect information or failure to provide requested documents. Regardless, they don't have to tell you the reason. It's not the same as having your application being rejected, which would mean you're ineligible for the visa. So, you can try again but I recommend a different embassy.

It means there was a mistake in your application form (wrong country, issuing agency, middle name, and so on).

You need to apply again.

but suggest you not apply in Pakistan again. BUT must be sure that the Thai Embassy or Consulate where he does apply will accept the application with a passport of Pakistan.

No, my application was accepted, was called for interview, then subsequently requested some work related docs and travel history, so if information was incorrect, would have cancelled straight away
