Hello. When providing proof of income for the 60 day tourist visa, am I allowed to redact my account information on the bank statements or will that lead to my application being rejected?

TLDR : Answer Summary
You are allowed to redact your account information, such as the account number, on bank statements submitted for a 60-day tourist visa application. Some users mentioned that for longer-term visas, it's common practice to maintain separate accounts for visa requirements. Additionally, it appears that proof of income may not be strictly necessary in some cases, depending on the country from which you are applying.
For the 60 day visa you don't need any proof of income (at least in Austria). The only question is, do you earn up to 20,000, from 20,000 to 40,000 and so on. No exact information necessary.
I’m a US citizen, residing in Korea. They rejected my evisa application because they need proof of income. Thanks though!

For a long term visa, I have a Thai account that has just the required deposits then I move the money to another account for daily use.
You could probably do something similar with a foreign account. Just use it for visa requirements. There is no need for them to see your other transactions.
