Hi. A friend applied for a visa in Hanoi. The visa was canceled. "Wrong personal info"

How can I tell where there was a mistake? There was no error in the passport details. Is there a phone number or email I can check? Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user's friend experienced a visa cancellation in Hanoi due to 'wrong personal info'. The user is seeking guidance on how to identify the mistake. Responses suggest that many personal info issues stem from mismatches with the passport, such as name or date of birth. They recommend checking the details carefully and contacting the embassy directly for assistance. It's crucial to ensure all information is accurate when reapplying.

Wrong personal info is a common mistake often relating to a mismatch to the passport data e.g name, DOB, place of passport issue. The embassy will unlikely give you the specific error. You can try and contact the embassy directly. When you reapply triple check after you upload docs that names, dates etc are accurate.

Ok thanks. My friend is Israeli, at the passport issuance site he wrote "Jerusalem" exactly as it is written in the passport. Maybe he should have written "Israel"?

He should write what is written on the passport but double check after uploaded that it is correctly input.

no, he should write the country name, not what is written exactly. That is wrong advice.

DTV_BegPecker Wrong advice to put the city of issue documented on your passport,??!ok..I have been awarded dozens of tourist visas and several working visas wrong, best report myself to immigration..

DTV_BegPecker But it is clearly stated in the passport under the field Place of Issue.. Could this be the reason for the rejection? Simply writing "Israel" even though that's not what's written on the passport?

I’ve applied thousands of visa successfully and for many countries, For place of issue field in Thai Visa, I always put the city name according to the passport, not the country name, previously they only allow to search by country name, anyhow All visa were approved without any issues in Singapore Thai Embassy. So I think place of issue won’t be an issue for you. Case, may be there could be others mistake or each embassy has their own ways of accepting or not
