Hi guys hope someone can help me and point me in the right direction.

I have recently applied through the London embassy. After 6 rounds of back and forth with requests for additional documents my visa application was cancelled.

I was not rejected but it does not state why it was cancelled.

Has anyone had similar l?

Just wondering rhe best approach and if there is any way I can find out?

Any help would be greatly appreciated because this is making me want to rip my hair out and the no reason means I am left in limbo unsure what to do

Cheers

Last month you mentioned being rejected in Vietnam, but now you're saying your London application was cancelled. Perhaps using a reputable agent could help with the application process. It might be something simple like a typo or incorrect documents.

LongTimeLivingInThailand that is something I am considering as I have not had much luck and finding it difficult to work out where I am going wrong. Do you have recommendations?

I can’t be of much help, but I applied through the London embassy three times. Two of my applications were cancelled, and the third was rejected, even though I met all the eligibility criteria.

I contacted the embassy countless times but never received an answer (telephone and email). Eventually, I reached out to the Thai Consul, who told me that the embassy is not required to provide a reason for cancelling or rejecting applications.

You’re hiding behind a nickname to say clearly you didn’t? Ok.

I’ve been advised by an agent to apply via Laos, so I’m heading that way and applying there.

Will you try again via London?

Same happened to me applying via LA. Kept requesting the same docs I duly sent. Rinse, repeat, and cancelled.

currently in Phnom Penh, impatiently waiting for approval. I used an agent this time.

I last applied in 2024. I think things are a bit better now.

if you have been rejected before your passport number will be on the database so they will go over everything with a fine tooth comb

that makes sense. I was rejected once before but this time was soft power rather than remote work dtv. It was also cancelled rather than rejected so I do not know the reason

I am wondering if a different country / agency might be better than London or best option and route to go down.

On paper I tick everything they have asked for

@Dan *******
if you were applying for soft power, why did you submit a remote work contract?

It felt like it haha! Scrutinising the gym, then my long term accomdostion, my remote working contract, etc felt like everything

@Dan *******
That doesn't make sense. You either apply for a remote worker or soft power. Why would they scrutinize the gym and your remote work contract? It sounds like your application was very confusing

I did not think so. I was applying for a soft power visa but I work remotely. They wanted to know how I can live and support myself so asked me about where my money was coming from. Seemed about of scrutinising on both sides of it which surprised me but I thought they wanted to make sure I would have money coming in.

my understanding is they ask how you are able to support yourself and not everyone has a mass amounts of savings. This is the first I have heard of you not being legally allowed to work remotely?

John, i think someone in the last week posted that they were asked by London to demonstrate how they would support themselves and they said in their post that it was by doing online tutoring and their application was accepted, so not sure this would be the issue.

Could be anything like a typo with your name or passport number. The software auto fills your info after uploading your passport and often makes mistakes. This has to be corrected manually before submitting

I don't agree that you can legally do so.

but every other information I have seen states you can work remotely on a soft power visa? Not that it has to be one or the other?

Anonymous participant 244 I was wondering why it was cancelled and not rejected. So what bio data could be wrong?

@John *********
The application was cancelled not rejected which means there was an error with the bio data

if you're unemployed you put unemployed. If you're employed you apply using the appropriate option. If you put unemployed they'll likely want to see how you can support yourself

@John *********
when I applied it asked for an occupation do people just leave that blank or put unemployed then?

Sorry for million questions this has been a mission
John **********
John **********
@Dan *******
it doesn't require an occupation, it requires you to show how you can support yourself during your stay in Thailand

what do most people put under occupations then when asked in the soft power visa?

thank you that makes sense.

a visa issued to train Muay Thai gives you permission to enter Thailand to do that, it doesn't give you the legal right to work remotely from Thailand. On the other hand a visa issued for the purpose of working remotely from Thailand does give you the legal right to do so and you can still train as you don't need any specific permission to do that.

I thought the idea was they want to see proof of money coming in so you are not a drain? What do most people put under the income situation then?

I understand the soft power route is the easier route to go so I wanted to do that based off what others have told me

If my circumstances are going to be training but I also work remotely I don’t understand why the is an issue surely it makes me a more suitable candidate. I have seen a lot of others on here also applying for soft power having to prove income situation so I don’t quite understand you promising me when I am asking for help?

@Dan *******
you should just have applied under the Workation option if you work remotely. Not surprised your application was rejected.

Might help if you share what these 6 rounds of documents were about. That seems an inordinate number
