Hello sorry if someone asked this already. I’m currently in Thailand can I apply for tourist visa and get extra 60 days or does that have to be done before I went here?
Also when you apple for 30 day extension what documents do you have to bring? I remember doing it last year but the hotel printed me a sheet of paper and I can’t remember what that was.
Thank you in advance!
TLDR : Answer Summary
The original poster inquires whether they can apply for a 60-day tourist visa while already in Thailand or if this must be done from their home country. Responses clarify that applying for a tourist visa (specifically a 60-day) must be done prior to entering Thailand through a Thai embassy or consulate. They can only extend their stay by 30 days while in Thailand at immigration. Comments suggest bringing specific documents like a recent TM30 form printed from their hotel when applying for the extension, though requirements can differ by location. Furthermore, obtaining a visa on arrival or reentering the country on a tourist exemption depends on the passport held, with limitations on how often one can use these options without raising suspicions with immigration authorities.
