Just spent 5 plus hours at CW to transfer extension stamps into new passport .Heads up I was asked for my updated bank book. This is not mentioned anywhere and not on the back of the transfer form.I was asked to go back with it.Wonderful.So always take more than is " officially required".The lady also said I could leave and re-enter Thailand with my old passport which shows my retirement extension stamp and my new passport which has no stamps if I didnt do the transfer into the new passport .If this is the case would I be given 90 days on re entering ? Thanks .
TLDR : Answer Summary
The user recently experienced a lengthy process at Chaengwattana Immigration to transfer extension stamps from an old passport to a new one. They were unexpectedly asked for an updated bank book, which is not indicated in the official requirements. They inquire about the possibility of re-entering Thailand with both the old passport (which holds the extension stamp) and the new passport without the stamp, and whether this would result in a 90-day stay upon re-entry. Community comments provide additional insights into the transfer process and the potential complexities involved.
