Update: I got the reentry permit. As was stated by many I needed the TM8, 1 passport photo and 1000 baht. 30 minutes in total. Thanks all.

Travelling back to the UK for 3 weeks. I currently have Non-O visa and will need a re-entry permit for when I come back. Is there any particular documentation required. I already have the visa extended to 1 year and will be travelling back to Thailand before my next 90 day report is required. Any advice is appreciated.
Answer summary
To obtain a re-entry permit for Thailand with a Non-O visa, you need to submit a completed TM8 form, your passport, one or two passport-sized photos (depending on the officer's requirements), and a fee of 1000 baht for a single entry or 3800 baht for a multiple entry. The process typically takes about 30 minutes, and you can get the re-entry permit at the airport or at a local immigration office. Additionally, there is no requirement for a 90-day report if you leave the country and return before your visa extension is up for renewal.

We did ours yesterday in Phuket. • Attached T8 form

• Also need:

• Original and copy of your passport (identification page and pages with Thai visas, TM6 and entry stamps).

• A passport sized photo (4 x 6 cm).

• Copy of 90 day report

• B1000 for single entry and I think B3800 multiple.

• Visa Extension page and fee paid stamp

• Sign all copies and write phone number on back of folded application form.

You need to complete a TM8 and supply 2 passport photo's along with your passport (that is what my local immigration office asked for) and 1,000baht payment (3800baht if you want a multi entry/exit one which is only useful if you intend to leave and return 4 times in the next 12 months). Whole process at the office took less than 20 minutes. I have heard you can get it done at the departure airport but I prefer to start my travelling knowing it is all done. No 90 day reporting deadline but you must be back in Thailand before the time your current Visa extension is due renewal

I have obtained the re-entry permit at the airport the last twice I have left. Takes 10-20 minutes. All you need is a completed TM8, one passport photo and your passport. 1000 baht for single re-entry.

Is the office on ground floor same as check in or do you have to go up the escalator?

You have to go up the escalator and through security, but before immigration. Ask a passport control officer if you cant find it.

or come in the back way from airside, after immigration

Up the escalator is for the poor people. Fast track takes you around to the back.

Yea. But you still need to fill in the form at the desk

Ian Carman YES you are right, you will need TWO passport size pictures for the application forms to the re-entry permit

Nongnuch Kamdee and 2 blank pages in passport when arriving back in Thailand.

Roger Mcintyre why would that be required? The entry stamp is a small flag-like stamp. One passport page can hold 8 of these entry stamps. A re-entry permit, if it was a single re-entry, just gets stamped across with the words "USED" There is no such requirements for two blank passport pages, never heard from. Some Immigration officer must have been pulling a fairy tale out of his nose

Ian Carman This was done by Google search and is basically what I needed to provide last year, for a single and multiple re-entry permits.

The form also requests info on travel, but this info is not always required by immigration

Roger Mcintyre Google gets is wrong. You need TWO passport size pictures. And the wording is wrong. "for as long as the visa is valid" is complete nonsense. He has no visa. Has an "extended stay permit". The text must say "for as long as the stay permit is valid"

I think this is what he was after

after you have left Thailand, there is no more 90-days report required. Your report duty has ended. . . . . The 90-days report clock starts at number one on the day you enter Thailand again

All you need is your passport with a re-entry permit in it and to file an arrival card before you within 3 days of arrival
