After receiving 90 day Non-o visa, do you have to remain in the country for the entire 90 days until you receive your one year extension?

TLDR : Answer Summary
You do not need to stay in Thailand for the full 90 days on your Non-O visa before applying for a one-year extension. However, if you plan to leave the country during this period, you must obtain a re-entry permit to ensure your visa remains valid for the extension application.

no, just make sure you have the reentry stamp, get it at immigration at the airport or border when you leave.

nope but if you're going to leave the country you need to buy a re-entry permit (which will only be good for this 90 day stamp) and you have to come back before that expires so you can apply for the year extension at your immigration office
