I live in Thailand on Non-O visa (marriage) with one-year extensions (Bangkok, Immigration Division 1). My stamp expires at the end of December. Currently I'm in my home country, where I got new passport, as the old one was almost full.
I'm coming back to Thailand this week, and I know that at the airport I should show them both passports (re-entry permit in the old passport). But I have a few questions regarding transferring extension stamp to the new passport:
Is there any rule when I should do it? Immediately after arrival? Or can I do it at the beginning of December, when applying for another yearly extension. If in December, can it be done with the same officer, or these are two separate processes and queues?
But if it should be done immediately, I tried to do an online appointment, and I see on the list of the services to choose, that there is no stamp transfer service. So, is it a walk-in service only?
And how about transferring multiple re-entry permit stamp? Can it be done at the Immigration Office, or maybe it’s more convenient to do it at the airport, before the next trip? It’s not my case now, as I don’t plan any trips before extension, but I’m asking for the future.
Thank you for your support and good work!
