I need to leave Thailand and return in a month or two. I have a non o visa but no re-entry. Is it still possible to obtain the re-entry in suvarnabhumi Airport on departure? Anyone been there recently?

TLDR : Answer Summary
If you need to leave Thailand and return with a Non-O visa but don't currently have a re-entry permit, you can obtain one at Suvarnabhumi Airport before your departure. The re-entry permit desk is located after security, typically near the immigration counters, and is open 24/7, though staff may not always be present. The cost is 1,200 THB for a single entry and 4,000 THB for multiple entries. After obtaining your permit, you will need to go through the regular passport control process. It's advisable to arrive prepared and not rely solely on getting the re-entry permit at the airport, but many have confirmed that the process at Suvarnabhumi is straightforward.

With a Non O retirement Visa, what is the cost for the single & multiple re-entries at Phuket international airport immigration?
Any idea how long it would take to do this at Phuket international airport?

I would go to your nearest immigration office ....in Thailand it’s always better to arrive at the departing airport with all your paperwork in order ....

Yes they are still available at the airport but you can also get one prior to avoid any stress but really you should be fine and it won't take long.
seriously why departures are empty, i went through security 22 people working only me going through. Re entry counter 1 person again only me, immigration 5 officers again only me.
Yes and nobody knows what the entry rules will be at that time. Just need my re-entry and prefer to do it at the airport instead of wasting time going to CW ;-)
I am not on retirement:-) so no requirement for health insurance. But for sure thanks for the heads up and hopefully things will only get easier going forward and not more complicated
If you are on a Non-O retirement visa, be aware of that, as far as I know, in addition to testing, special flight, covered insurance, and quarantine, you must have general medical insurance for 400,000 baht impatient and 40,000 baht outpatient. It can be quite expensive and provides very little coverage. Hopefully that requirement will quietly disappear in a few months.
Yes, I was with Qatar but that would entail hotel quarantine costing £1750. I've booked with Swissair, Bangkok to Zurich then Manchester. Flight time from Chiang Mai to Bangkok now changed so I have a 12 hour wait in Bangkok airport. Best price was through Gotogate.
A re-entry would be useless in your case then. They are made for people who don't want to lose their acquired status, like 1 year marriage, business or retirement extensions.
Unlike in many countries, the yellow book and immigration are separate matters not linked to each other. Strangely, in Thailand we can be resident of a municipality without being resident in the country 😁
Sometime it is for good. You'll have an official address in Thailand without bothering for a resident permit.

I'm needing the same thing in a few days time. May I also ask, once I go through security and tell them I need a re-entry permit, where, exactly is that re-entry permit desk / booth situated? Is it where we would normally go through passport control? Do we go to the re-entry booth first, get stamped up and then rejoin the "normal" queue for passport control as usual to get your departure stamp? Or do you get the re-entry stamp and departure stamp at the re-entrey permit desk as well, at the same time and just walk through? Thanks!
re-entry permits are sold at Suvarnabhumi airport in Departure 2, tell the people when you go thru security you need a re-entry permit and they will get someone to staff the desk (it's open
****
but sometimes no one is there)
The price for a re-entry permit is 1200baht for a single re-entry and 4000 for a multiple re-entry. Keep in mind a re-entry permit will get stamped back in until your current expiration date when you come back.
Look for that sign

Tod Daniels, thank you for the info. This year I chose not to get a multiple just my yearly "O"as we don't know if we can travel saving few bucks. Never done this before, If I am departing do I get and pay re-entry permit stamp prior to immigration inspection or after immigration? Does re-entry stamp have a time limit or just based on the visa year end date? Also, upon return, is it required to stop by the re-entry again and pay or just one time "outbound" only. Thank you for great advise and reply. Cheers
Todd, is it correct that even with a re-entry permit, one departing as will be this individual, he must, upon return, obtain all the documents and quarantine as any individual entering Thailand?
Yes, need to arrange COE etc and quarantine. Friend from work in his 2nd ASQ now. He will be doing 3rd end of June too as he has to travel again. Fully vaccinated too.
