What do I need to know about adding my partner to my DTV visa in Thailand?

DTV - ADDING YOUR PARTNER ONTO YOUR VISA!
Bit of context: held the dtv since 2025..

Has anyone applied for their partner recently?

Do they get called in for interview?

What else do you need other than main applicant's dtv, and proof of relationship?

Can the main dtv holder show funds in their account to sponsor the partner's stay as well?

Also if partner has UAE residency in the form of Golden Visa which renews every 10 years, does that count as permanent residence? As that's the best you can do residing in the UAE, there's no PR there or getting the passport ever.

You need a marriage certificate. If you are not married you cannot make her or him a dependent. You need to have 1 million baht for both of you and he/she will have to apply just like you did

The rules changed last week, so the likelihood that you will find someone who has already applied to that embassy using that specific visa is probably limited.  Your best option is contacting that embassy and asking them directly.  However a few things. Since you got your visa in 2025, I would assume you are in Thailand, maybe not. If your wife is here in Thailand as well, she would need to fly back to UAE to apply.  You need to be physically in the country.  While she would get the visa on the basis that her husband has the visa, she actually would submit her own application, so the fee, proof of funds. Some embassies allow the husband to show 1million baht in their account and attach a “sponsorship letter”. Need to include a copy of your DTV and your marriage certificates. Depending on the embassy, the marriage certificate might need to be notarized. She will also need a criminal background check done and include that in her application.

My main concern here is the new permanent residency requirement.

You can't technically have permanent residence in UAE. The best possible thing there is the golden visa which renews every 10 years.

So is that enough to apply from UAE itself?
