Hi everyone.I am planning on retiring to Hua Hin in April.I am now interested in a DTV to train for Muay Thai. The gym i have picked says that they can help with filling out visa and they say its pretty straightforward.I have read the visa requirements and have no problems with finance and the like but am wondering if anyone is aware of any unforseen pitfalls.
Regards,
Darren.

TLDR : Answer Summary
Darren is planning to retire in Hua Hin and is considering a DTV visa for Muay Thai training. The gym he chose offers to assist with the visa application, which he finds straightforward. He seeks advice on potential pitfalls. Comments suggest that while the DTV is a viable option, there may be scrutiny regarding the training commitment, necessity for 90-day reporting, and the importance of documentation. Participants also note that you cannot open a bank account under a DTV visa and recommend checking the gym's record with DTV approvals.

Thanks Dazza.lolAlways wanted to train Muay Thai so this suits me perfectly.I believe the Visa is a multiple entry one as I plan on doing a couple of small trips. Thanks m8.April can't come soon enough🙏
But on to your question. The DTV is a great option. But they have been cracking down on the soft power people recently. Asking about your classes etc. I've heard on one instance they called the gym and asked the trainer to describe the holder.
You still have to do 90 day reporting and it is best to leave every 180 days rather than try and renew.
But as long as you are actually training you should be fine.
