What are the requirements for applying for a DTV visa with a dependent child in Thailand?

Im from the uk and have complications around staying in Thailand long term because of my son.

I plan to apply for the DTV visa with a soft skills course (Muay Thai or cooking). 
Is this easily accepted?

I also need my son to be a dependent on the visa. He is from a previous relationship and I have a court order from the uk that shows he lives with me and my husband and that I have the relevant permission to remain in Thailand for one year. This document is signed by a district judge.

Will this document be accepted as evidence? It’s not got a legalisation stamp from the uk but I can probably organise a family member to do this process in the UK if this is necessary. Any advice?

A few things. You would need to apply for the DTV in a neighboring country, which can take 10-30 days. You would have to stay in that country. You would need to show that you registered for a course for 9months to a year (paid for) and that you have 500k in your bank account.  Once approved (many people are getting rejected now), you then apply for your son, on the basis of him being your dependent. Similarly, it would take 10-30 days, depending on the embassy.  You would need to show in his application a copy of your DTV, his birth certificate, and some embassies will require you to have an additional 500K for him. I am not sure about the judge letter and if that would be accepted, but most documents need to have official stamps and wet signatures.  Also, not sure if they would give a DTV to him, if the document only says he can stay a year, have you thought about an education visa?

Why would they issue a 5 year visa to your son if he only has legal permission to be in Thailand for 1 year? I don't know the answer, just raising the question
