Planning to get a DTV to learn Thai cooking and Muay Thai - I am in UK, British passport and then planning on getting spouse and 2xchildren in under my visa….am getting mixed answers regarding how much will need to show in savings. Some say only DTV applicant need £11k but others saying it’s per person (even though they’ll be dependents) - can anyone confirm either way?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The question revolves around the financial requirements for obtaining a long-stay DTV visa in Thailand while including dependents (spouse and children). The user is seeking clarification on whether the savings requirement of £11,000 applies solely to the DTV applicant or if it must also account for each dependent. Community responses indicate mixed understandings of the requirements, with some suggesting the figure is per person, while others recount experiences of approval with just the primary applicant's savings.

The 500K is also a requirement for a dependant, but some embassies don't check obviously.

Anonymous participant 490 I worked and lived in Thailand previously and we have travelled there extensively so have done our research. It’s five years as long as you leave every 180 days which is more than do-able. And five years suits us as children want to get working visa to Australia after that. I’m sure everyone does their research and have their own plans but don’t necessarily go into every detail when asking a quick question on here!

It is not 5 years, it is 180 days stay, when it was meant to immigrato in Thailand there would be no obligation to leave.

Of course you can at the moment trick the system because they don't limit the 180 stays like many other countries do.
