What do I need for a 60-day visa to Myanmar from Thailand regarding invitation letters and travel documentation?

Hi, If anyone has any advice/knowledge re Burma, I'm thinking of heading to Yangon/Rangoon for a 60-day visa this month. The Embassy website includes these two requirements

4. invitation letter (if any)

5. confirmed round trip air ticket or hotel reservation/accommodation reference (for travelling through border)

I assume 4. is irrelevant for me: iIm in Thailand now on a 30- day entry stamp. Re 5., does this merely refer to my return air ticket back to Thailand from Rangoon or a ticket out of Thailand. And/or does 'accommodation reference' mean I should have a hotel reservation in Hua Hin to show them or something else? I'm a bit confused and now understand each consulate has different requirements. THANKS IN ADVANCE for any clarification. It's very easy to book a hotel through hotels.com to present if that's all that's required. It appears that it's ONE or the other: ticket or reservation/accommodation. I am now in a condo here but have no documentation/lease etc.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user seeks clarification on the necessary requirements for a 60-day visa to Myanmar from Thailand, specifically about the invitation letter and travel documentation needed, such as proof of an onward flight or hotel reservation. Comments suggest that for the visa application, a round trip ticket back to Thailand is often sufficient, and while a hotel booking may be beneficial, it is not strictly enforced. Additionally, proof of funds may be required.

When I received my 60 day visa from Yangon about 1 year ago, I did not show them proof of onward travel. Just my roundtrip ticket from Thailand to Myanmar and back to Thailand (as I booked them together the were printed together).

I'm considering my next visa from this embassy but don't wish to book a flight out of Thailand if I can avoid it...

If you could update when you go if they required that it would be most appreciated :)

They also sometimes ask that you show proof of funds (800USD or the equivalent in a bank account) <-it's listed on the website.

You'll need your ticket going back TO thailand and proof of onward travel between 60 and 90 days from the date you apply. They are not that hard core about the hotel booking but take it if you have it.

Remember they ONLY accept US dollars for the thai visa at the consulate

, that is totally up to them and I don't think you're gonna get a real answer until you're standing there applying for the visa

As a rule the consulates that require onward travel are good about knowing you can get a 30 day extension in the country on the visa you're getting and allow the proof to be dated out 90 days

BUT

The rule is you show proof of onward travel dated for not longer than you will be stamped in to the country for on that visa. <- which means 60 days on a tourist visa.

So if I go ahead and book a flight that is somewhere between 60-90 days out, would that hypothetically satisfy them? Or it would have to be within 60 days? Thank you again

If you are asked for onward travel showing a lease here wouldn't satisfy that requirement :/ That would only show proof of lodging

@Adrien ******
print out a bank statement if you can access your account online.

They might or might not ask you for ANY of those things, a few people I talked to last week said they weren't asked at all.

Hi Tod, I'm headed to Yangon tomorrow. In what format does the embassy require proof of funds? Can I bring an ATM slip? For onward travel, 90 days is ok if I am applying for a 60-day visa with the intention of extending 30 days in Chiang Mai? Do I need the onward travel ticket if I bring my Thai apartment lease contract? Thank you so much for your advice.
