What are the requirements for accommodation and onward travel documentation for a Tourist Visa (TR) in Thailand?

Hello Group! I'm seeking tips about satisfying the accommodation and onward travel components of a Tourist Visa (TR) application. I included my flight arrival info and hotel bookings for the first 7 days while in Thailand. But, E-visa Immigration staff is requesting further documentation for the application: Onward flight + Accommodations for my entire stay (60 days) in Thailand.

Does anyone know if Immigration will ask for onward flight and/or my entire accommodations itinerary when I land at BKK? I intend to book an onward flight and hotel that I can change or cancel.

I’m curious if those bookings still need to be “live” when I land, or if I’m in the clear on arrival as long as I was approved for the TR visa?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user seeks clarity on whether additional documentation for accommodation and onward travel is required for a Tourist Visa (TR) application in Thailand. Although they have already submitted flight and hotel bookings for the first week, the E-visa staff is asking for further details regarding accommodations for the entire stay and an onward flight. Responses indicate that the required documents for visa approval differ from what may be requested upon arrival, suggesting that once the visa is issued, changes to bookings can be made without penalty.

Detailed travel information is out of scope of this group. Please check your airline’s latest policy always before you purchase your ticket(s).

The airline can be more of a problem. I traveled from USA July 2 with TV and they insisted on seeing onward travel and entered all of the details into their computer. Luckily I had planned a short trip.

It certainly seems to vary...I arrived in Bangkok today from the UK with Thai Airways on a one way ticket, tourist 60 day visa, and rather than having any hassle I bought a cheap reservation from Bangkok to Kuala Lumpur at a date within the 60 days....and neither the airline or immigration asked to see any ticket for onward travel...

Thanks Tom! Did you also arrive with a TR visa, or was it a 30-day exempt stay?

Yes. I traveled with TR on SWISS and their agent seemed very competent. From my Swiss ticket they knew I was not returning till February

, remember, If you would have an issue check-in or not depends on each airline policy, it's not a general rule.

Usually, you wouldn't have a problem with most airlines with a one-way ticket if you have an actual visa including Single Entry Tourist Visa.

, I'm aware there are some airlines that require you to have an onward travel ticket when you have a tourist visa, while some others don't require an outbound ticket even if you are flying into Thailand without any visa.

It's each airline's policy.

the requirements to GET the visa (lodging for your entire stay) have nothing to do with what you might be asked to show once you land here and go to stamp in.

SO no, you do not need to have the same booking you used to get the visa, when you land here and go to stamp in. You can change/cancel as much as you want AFTER you get the visa issued
