Hello, I'll be going to the consulate in Hull (UK)next week to apply for a 60 day Tourist visa. I just want to understand points 4 and 6 from this page:

[members only]

"Confirmation of travel booking – flight ticket(s)."

Is this to Thailand or also to leave? As I plan on heading down to Malaysia on a bus at the end of my trip and then onto Indonesia.

"Copy of latest bank statement or proof of earnings."

Is there a set amount they are looking for? I'm self employed so most of my earnings are cash below the tax bands.

Thanks in advance

TLDR : Answer Summary
The applicant seeks clarification on the requirements for a 60-day Tourist Visa application at the Thai consulate in Hull, specifically regarding flight booking confirmation and proof of funds. Comments from other users suggest that proof of a return or onward travel ticket is necessary, along with a recommended bank statement showing sufficient funds (around 20,000 Baht). Users also mention the importance of having physical copies of documents and share their experiences with the consulate's requirements.

I just got SETV my return flight was 5 months later didn't question it but I showed £5000 deposited in my bank 5 days before

I just got a 2 month tourist visa from the Liverpool consul and it was much easier than this: not asked for either proof of funds or onward travel. I mean, what other country asks you for proof of funds when applying for a tourist visa?!

And the UK that the applicant has sufficient funds to support themselves on their visit without the need of public funds or employment

The 26 Schengen countries are: Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, and Switzerland. Just for example

For a SETV 20,000B equivalent should be sufficient. Most consulates who do specify that is the amount required. For the ticket, ask them if they will take a bus ticket to Malaysia, they may do. If not you can book something cheap with Air Asia. Hat Yai to KL is usually one of the cheaper ones.

Bear in mind that if you don't have a visa and plan to fly in for a visa exempt your airline (more likely) or Thai immigration (less likely, unless you have history) may want to see a return ticket anyway. So you don't necessarily get out of this requirement.

Give them a ring they are pretty helpful. The flight you can just book a flight out of Thailand before the 60 days thats what they are looking for. Buy a cheap Throw away ticket out of Thailand or if your leaving before 60 days to go somewhere else use that ticket. Take photocopies of everything they ask and you should be good.

Its strange that they never put what amount is required as proof of funds. I tried asking before but never got an answer. Id go with a bank statement with over 20k baht as that is the proof of funds they ask for at the airport. But who knows.

Yeh this is my thinking. 20k isn't too much of an ask but it would be useful if they stated it on the page.

I think its proof of exit and entry you need. And make sure you have everything you need as a paper copy in hand. When I went to that one, they were really difficult because all my paper work was online, they said they didnt have time to use email as part of my appointment, and getting the visa took about three attempts. It was my first time getting a visa though, so I was probably naive, and things hopefully have changed since then.

A friend of mine went to Hull consulate for the 60 day tourist visa as he has done for 20years +and was totally unprepared for the conditions required now, so he walked away. He will now come on a 30day exempt stamp and then extend for another 30 day stay. So if you only need to stay 60days that is the best option.

@Tom ******
you will have to have a flight booked out then, that's what they told my friend anyway.

I plan on being prepared hence the question above. I'd like the option of extending after 60 days if I want to.
