I am a US citizen in Chiang Mai. Soon, I will be flying to Yangon, Myanmar to get a new SETV visa. Do I need to show proof of onward flight leaving Thailand when I apply for my SETV at the Thai Consulate in Yangon? Thanks!!!! D~

TLDR : Answer Summary
The inquiry revolves around whether a US citizen needing to apply for a SETV visa at the Thai Consulate in Yangon must present proof of an onward flight from Thailand. Responses highlight that confirmed airline tickets for departure from Thailand or, if crossing by land, accommodation bookings in the neighboring country are typically required. Ambiguities in the Thai Embassy guidelines are noted, particularly relating to whether the requirement refers to exiting Thailand after the visa expires. Overall, clarity on these documentation requirements is sought.
May I ask, what if the plan is to enter Thailand by crossing at Myawaddy-Maesot border by bus. What could be the proof? Hotel booking at Myawaddy or Maesot? Thanks.
As i read it: Confirmed airline tickets into and leaving Thailand or if you travel by land crossing a border hotel reservation/accommodation reference in the neighbor country. And yes, they have to be within the 60 days of stay which you get with this visa.
Yes, I have already read the info on the Thai Embassy website, but it is a litttle ambiguous: "...confirmed round trip air ticket or hotel reservation/accommodation reference (for travelling through border)." Does that mean to re-enter Thailand from Myanmar or does that mean confirmation nof onward ticket to depart Thailand when visa expires?
