Hello everyone

Please don't roast me šŸ„¹

My flight is scheduled for 24th December but I applied for my single entry visa to Thailand on 13th Dec(Friday) and made the visa fee payment successfully. My application has been on processing pending document check(1) since then.

I am feeling nervous about it šŸ˜“

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user expressed anxiety about their single entry visa application for Thailand, submitted shortly before their flight on December 24th. Initial processing was pending additional document checks, leading to nervousness about timely approval. Community members provided insights on typical processing times, emphasizing patience, especially during weekends and the busy travel season. Some noted similarities in their experiences with processing delays and recommended checking with the embassy or consulate for clarifications on required documents.

weekends arenā€™t processing days so factor that in. also if they asked for more docs thatā€™s fine, you can always call or message your consulateā€™s IG page and ask for any clarifications before sending in your new docs to make sure you are giving what they are asking. good luck

Relax itā€™s been 3 days, I had to wait two weeks

Unfortunately, you just have to wait in South Korea for approval and get issued your Thai E-Visa

I recently applied for an e visa (nyc) and on the 30th day I went to the embassy to inquire. They informed me they review the applications by the date you are leaving not in order of received. I would suggest going to the embassy and inquiring in person to get it processed faster. I went and received my approval email the same day.

Calm down and relax. Everything in Thailand takes time, and youā€™ll need to adjust to it.

ok. Make sure you provide enough that they donā€™t ask for any more. You should have it approved by the end of the week fingers crossed.

The fact you had to state ā€œPlease donā€™t roast meā€ is mental. We now have to actively ask not to be bullied online for asking for advice and help on something we have no or little knowledge about šŸ˜ž

It hasnā€™t even been 1 working day yetā€¦ just relax and give it a week
Toby *************
What do you expect if you applied friday and it is monday morning now? That they would rush to notify you by lunch because you are special?

@Toby ************
the OP is just a little worried that is all. Think she just wanted a little reassurance and not snarky replies.

@Sharon ********
its a sharky question if one expects a answer applying friday, on monday morning, lol. It's how you get refused in Thai customs.

Not all passports have this. Most African countries donā€™t.

OP is Ugandan.

didn't know that she was Ugandan but planning is not their string issue hasn't given enough time obviously

Do you know if you even need a visa?? Which country is your passport from and how long do you plan to stay?

I ask because this is probably one of the largest determining factor if you even need a visa at all.

oh I am from Uganda šŸ‡ŗšŸ‡¬

I checked and I need a visa šŸ˜©

then I'm sorry to say that you are unlikely to get your visa approved in time for your departure. The processing time for many african nationalities are months, rather than weeks. Why did you apply so late/buy flight tickets before checking the visa procedures? šŸ¤”

I understand that you are nervous but the embassy people are not likely to work weekends and their load is probably quite high now as it's high season. You don't state what embassy you applied to (and this isn't a DTV question if you applied for SETV) so unable to guide you further, but your embassy's home page might have info on it about their processing times. And although it's an e-visa, its a manual process.

thank you for your response

i applied through the Seoul consulate (in south korea)

@Yvonne ******
The Seoul embassy can take up to 4 weeks (for a DTV)ā€¦ or at least thatā€™s what they confirmed to me when I was there in October. [I already had heard that, and it even states it somewhere, officially, but they confirmed it 慠慠]

You may email them if you like.

I didnā€™t apply in the end, as I was only staying in Korea about a month and didnā€™t want to risk the approval being made ā€˜afterā€™ I had left.

Hopefully, theyā€™ll be quicker than 4 weeks for you. šŸ™šŸ»

I applied for a single entry tourist visa in Seoul in July, it took 15 days to be granted. Later on, I applied, again in Seoul, for a DTV, in August, and it took 8-9 weeks to be granted. They're not fast. I'd expect 10 business days at the very least.

the UK also states up to 4 weeks, it took 10 days for mine.

I applied for a different Thai visa through Seoul embassy earlier this year and they were very slow. It had already been 2 weeks of processing and so the day before my flight I went to the embassy - they let me in right away, I told them what time my flight was and they told me theyā€™d sort it out in time. Then a few hours later it got approved :) I would prepare yourself to go to the embassy the day before your flight. Get there when they open and they will help you :)
