TLDR : Answer Summary
The user expressed concern over their pending tourist visa application submitted from China on December 14, with a travel date scheduled for January 18. They are seeking assistance regarding the expected approval date. Responses indicate that users should directly contact the Thai embassy for updates and note that the embassy typically processes visas based on departure dates, with responses often occurring 1-2 weeks prior to travel.

It’s normal that the embassy proces touristvisa by departure dato, and will answer 1-2 weeks before departure, to the benefit of the tourist.

Thank you for your comment.

I got my visa yesterday it took me almost 20 days in total and around 12 working days to get the visa.

They will always issue the touristvisa, depending on the the departure date, to advantage for the tourist.

Applying long time before the departuredate, will result in long waiting time to get the touristvisa.

“Tourist Visa – A single-entry visa must be used to enter Thailand within 3 months from the date of issue.- A multiple-entry visa must be used to enter Thailand within 6 months from the date of issue.”

Only the Thai embassy processing your application can answer that question. You would need to contact them to check the status. Make sure you check your junk email filter as if there were any issues or questions about your application they would send you an email.
