TLDR : Answer Summary
To transfer your extension based on marriage to a new passport in Thailand, you need to visit the Thai immigration office with a letter from your consulate or embassy, which requests the transfer of your immigration details to the new passport. Ensure you have copies of both your old and new passports. The process is free and usually involves submitting a form and returning a few days later to pick up your updated documents.

Most consulates here in thailand know that when you get a new passport while in country you need the letter from them to take to the immigration office to get the extension, entry stamp and re-entry permit moved to the new one.

If you get your new passport at your Thai embassy, they should provide a letter to Thai immigration requesting them to transfer all your pertinent Thai details from the old to the new passport. You will need to provide copies of the old and new passport. You turn your passports in to Thai immigration with a form and they will give you a date and time (usually a few days) to pick it up.

Samut Prakan takes about 40 minutes.

Jomtien Immigration. I did not even wait in line so it was not like they were busy. They even had 2 times of the day posted when you could pick up passports and they gave me a specific day to come back that it would be ready. I went there about 2 weeks ago.
, I don't know what immigration office you use, but at most of them you show up with both passports, the letter from your consulate, fill out the "transfer stamp to new passport form" and they move the stamps to the new passport while you wait.
