Thanks to Todd and Co for your help once again!

I got my Non O Marriage visa extension inked in after consideration period yesterday at Hua hin immigration.

We did visit the helpers downstairs three times to go over the application in detail as we had only two days to apply before the initial entry ran out as we had a delay with funds seasoning for two months prior to application.

They were very helpful and the process was doable but Id certainly recommend allowing for at least two visits to check documents before applying.

I did apply for marriage visa to replace my retirement visa. They canceled my retirement visa wich was 40 days still valid and put a month stamp wich expired the 19th February. My marriage visa is still not ready. But they say no problem, we will call you when he is ready.

remember changing the reason for your extension will mean you lose those 40 days you had and your new extension should be a year from the date you applied, check your stamp when you go back to get the extension inked in

AND

It's not uncommon for up country offices to run past the under consideration stamp (although from the 19th to now is a little long) because they have to send the packet to bangkok to be approved

IMO, Hua Hin Immigration has been a pleasure to work with these last 10 years.

For heavens sake, get the requirements from your local immigration, maybe as I do ask if anything changed from last year if the answer is no just get it as the immigration paperwork says.

Get the list of requirements from your specific IO and only 1 visit should be all that's required if you follow the list. I just did my application last week in Chiang Mai, I provided what was on their list, did the document check, got the Q number, submitted the application and got the UC stamp, all in 2hrs. Just waiting for the 27th March for the final extension stamp.

Well done , the marriage extention I did in Jomtien was very stressfull and required your documentation to be spot on ,or the officer sent you away , no ifs or buts .

My friends wife works in the immigration and she said that they have to double check everything before sending the application away to head office for approval , hence the 1 month under consideration stamp .

How long did you have to wait after pulling a ticket for the queue?

Iwas there early ,but there's no que downstairs so its a mad rush with lots of pushing in to get to the actual digital queuing machine.

We waited about 3 and a half hrs and the, application took maybe 30 mins we were done by 1pmish

It wasn't busy apparently lol

how long the O/P waited has nothing to do with how long you'll wait once you show up at the immigration office. It is totally dependent on the number of people ahead of you that particular day.

Some days are diamonds (you get a queue and get called fast)

Some days are stone (you get a queue and lose the will to live waiting to be called)

yes I know that. That particular office can be packed so I wanted to know how long he waited yesterday

Congrats on getting the extension.

Yeah if you run yourself out of time you really add to the pressure of the whole process.

Glad it worked out . (Y)

Thanks for the update
