Currently in the process of moving back to Bangkok after 6-7 years away. I'm a UK passport holder on a 3 month single entry O visa (married to Thai) and will soon need to go and submit my application for 1 year extension plus re-entry permit. Has anybody recently been through this process at Chaengwattana and can provide any advice? The last time we went through the process 7-8 years ago it was a long and painful affair...........Thanks.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A UK passport holder moving back to Bangkok with a single entry O visa (due to marriage to a Thai citizen) is seeking advice on the one-year extension application process at Chaengwattana. Key recommendations include obtaining the requirement list directly from the immigration office to avoid lengthy reapplications and noting that applications can be made when 45 days remain on the current visa. Helpful resources include booking a queue online and referencing specific topics related to the marriage visa extension.

You should head on out to Chaengwattana with your wife and get the hand out from section L-1 listing the requirements for the yearly extension based on marriage to a thai
it's my direct experience that most of the "long and painful" parts of the process can be eliminated by doing that.
That way you know the documentation, copies, photos, etc they want and can go prepared rather than try multiple times to get it done.
Remember in Bangkok you can apply when you have 45 days or less left on that 90 day non-O stamp so no need to burn it down to the last few days, you don't lose any days applying early the year extension is added to your expiration date now.
This is a general idea of what can be required for an extension based on marriage it is NOT immigration office specific which is why I said slog on out and get the hand out yourself.
