Hi, sharing my experience today 24.3 at Chaengwattana to apply for:
60days extension of my 1 year Multy Entry non o visa based on marriage.
-Italian Passport-
Arrived at 6.20am, I was number 192 in queue.
At 7 they started letting the people in and get their numbers, offices started to be operative.
At 7 probably there were already more than 500ppl queued.
Once you get your queue number you go to an other section where you get the number and application forms for your type of application.
I was number 14 for my type of application.
I already had my Tm7 application form, but there was an application also for my wife to fill.
In few minutes I was called.
Required documents :
- Tm7 application + 1 photo
- Application for your wife to fill(not sure the name)
- passport
- copy of : passport data page + visa page + last entry stamp + Tm6
- original and copy of Marriage certificate + Kor Ror
- original and copy of Thai wife ID
- original and copy of Rent contract
- copy of landlord ID
- copy of house ( the one we rent from the landlord) Tabien Ban
- copy of landlord Tabien Ban (her own house)
- a hand written letter stating : my name, passport number, the permission to be granted a 60day extension, sign.
- 1900thb
Everything signed by both.
My wife had to be present, they had to take a picture of us together holding the original marriage certificates.
Try to have as many documents/copies already filled and ready.
Officer was super efficient and fast.
By 8 we were out and stamped, the extension will start from the day I was supposed to leave Thailand 5th of April.
Especially in these times, where avoiding crowded situations should be a priority I totally advice to get there EARLY 6am and whit as many documents/copies filled and ready: while queuing you can easily keep your safety distance and the offices were not crowded as soon as they open.
At 8am when I left, the queue was endless, crowded and there were queues of people at every entrance of the building.
Not sure if in that conditions keeping a safe distance/conditions was possible.
I hope it can be helpful.
