TLDR : Answer Summary
To change your visa status from a Non B extension of stay due to employment to a Non O extension due to retirement in Bangkok, you must cancel your current work permit and employment extension. You'll need various documents including your passport, a copy of the most recent visa and entry stamp, the extension application form (TM7), a TM30 form, proof of financial requirements (800,000 THB in a Thai bank or 65,000 THB monthly income), a hand-drawn map to your residence, passport-sized photos, and a processing fee of 1,900 THB. It's advisable to ensure that all financial proofs meet the specific requirements set by the immigration office.

This change over to extension of stay retirement can be done anytime up to the last date on the employment extension of stay or needs to be submitted 15days before the last date?

Rama2 is Bangkok. Omg. Is it possible to goto SS to cancel then the next day goto CW to apply...both before the end date stamped in my passport? Which is the exact location in CW for ext of stay retirement?
You have to apply for cancellation at the immigration office where that extension was issued. And you have to apply for an extension based on retirement at the immigration office that serves the area of your address in TM30.
You cannot pick up the immigration office freely.

But the change over to retirement application can only be submitted after the cancellation not earlier. So the only time frame is on the same day, just preparing all the docs earlier.
Anytime you can apply for CANCELLATION the current one and apply for the new reason immediately.

Check with CW for requirements for changing the reason for the one-year extension. You may or may not need to show the source of your fund if you are using the banked money method.

Very detailed, thank you. Any insurance requirements? So can change over directly from Non B visa extension of stay based on employment to retirement without needing another Non O or Non OA in country?

That is correct 🙂 You are changing the reason for the extension of stay, and you shouldn't need a new visa to get the one year extension of stay based on retirement.

You will need to cancel your current work permit and your current extension of stay based on employment. You will then be able to apply, on the same day, for a one year extension of stay based on retirement.
1. Your passport and a copy of:
a. The data “picture” page.
b. The most recent visa (if applicable).
c. The most recent entry stamp or extension of stay (if applicable).
d. The departure card (“TM 6”) that should be stapled in the passport.
2. The extension of stay application form (“TM 7”).
3. A copy of the TM30 form submitted to the immigration office.
4. To meet the financial requirements of either:
- 800,000 THB in a Thai bank account seasoned for 2 months along with a letter from the bank. If renewing the one year extension of stay, the 800,000 THB must be seasoned for two months before applying and three months after the last extension of stay was granted, and for the money not to have been lower then 400,000 THB throughout the calendar year, Or;
- 65,000 THB a month in income to a Thai bank transferred from overseas, Or;
- A letter from the embassy stating the applicant receives 65,000 THB a month in income from overseas.
5. A hand drawn map to your houser.
6. 1x passport sized (4cm by 6cm) photos.
7. 1,900 THB processing fee.
