TLDR : Answer Summary
To cancel a Non-B Visa and switch to a Retirement Non-O Visa, one must first cancel the current extension of stay based on employment. It is essential to ensure that you meet the requirements for the new visa category, including having 800K baht in the bank for at least two months prior to applying. Once the employment-based extension is canceled, you can immediately apply for a new extension of stay, this time citing retirement as the reason.

You asked me this in messenger back in APRIL this year. the process didn't change,

You do NOT have a Non-B VISA ๐Ÿ™ you are on a yearly extension of stay, you do NOT get a Non-O anything.

As I said you get all the documentation to apply for a year extension of stay from the immigration office based on being over 50 (retirement) the 800K baht in the bank for 2 months before you apply and you get documentation from your employer to cancel your extension of stay based on employment,

GO cancel the employment extension, and immediately apply for the new year extension for a DIFFERENT REASON, all you're doing is changing the reason for your extension from one based on employment to one based on retirement.

It is done all the time
