Could anyone please advise the current documents required to accompany an application from Tourist visa to Non O ( under consideration) with the view to then apply for year extension based on retirement.

Also, am I right in assuming the form required is TM.7 ?

IO will be CW so I'm trying to ask to save a visit there just to ask what is required.

Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
To change from a Tourist visa to a Non-O visa in Thailand, you will need to use the correct forms based on your current visa type. Forms TM86 and TM87 are for changing your visa status based on whether you originally entered with a tourist visa or a visa exemption, respectively. It is advisable to visit the immigration office to obtain the latest handouts and detailed requirements. Additionally, ensure you have at least 15 days remaining on your current stamp before applying for the Non-O visa.

From a REAL tourist visa <- that you bought from a thai consulate before you came here and got stamped in for 60 days you use form TM86 (change of visa status). Whereas if you entered on a 30 day visa exempt you use TM87 (application for visa) The cost is 2000baht

Take Ellie's advice, slog on out to Chaengwattana, go to Section C-1 (the section that issues in country 90 day Non-Imm visas) and get the hand out to get the one based on being over 50 (retirement)

You will need to have a minimum of 15 days left on your current stamp to apply because there is a 2 week under review period before you go back to get the Non-O visa and new 90 day stamp inked in.

This list is from the Bangkok Immigration office site. TM7 is for extension of stay form, not for the new in-country visa.

You may need to get the latest handout anyway.
