Good morning- I think my plan to change from working on WP and Multi Entry Non B Visa to Retirement VISA is clear but T.I.T so I don’t want any surprises - review and approval of my plan and questions please 🙏

I am 51 and have been in Thailand 3 years- my employment finishes on June 30th.

I have had more than 800K in the bank for 2 years and will get a letter from the bank to confirm. Will also take my bank book and copies for the same account.

I have downloaded and completed form TM-7.

I have the 1900 THB.

I have the passport, copies and the photos.

I have copies of my lease contract (not sure if I need this)

Questions:

Do I need to take a medical certificate?

Which Bangkok office does the retirement visa ? ( I live on Petchaburi Road/ Asoke)

Do I need to wait until my employment finishes on June 30th - or can I go on Monday and take and use the letter from my employer that confirms the termination date ?

I am approximately 30 days into the current 90 day reporting period.... my current visa is until Dec 20 ( but I read something about having to be in the last 30 days of my current extension.... I am not, but my employment ending would trigger cancellation of my as my employer tells me that ‘by law’ they have to submit and cancel both visa and wp within 7 days of employment ending.

I want my retirement extension to be ‘multiple entry’ - do I just ask for that and pay more - how does that work ?

Any advice and clarity greatly appreciated...

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user plans to switch from a Multi Entry Non-B Visa to a Retirement Visa after ending their employment in Thailand. They have over 800K in savings, completed the necessary forms, and gathered required documents. They have questions regarding the need for a medical certificate, the appropriate immigration office for the retirement visa, timing of their application relative to employment termination, and the process for obtaining a multiple entry permit.

I can see on your re-entry permit that you used the One Stop Service Center to get your extension so that's where you need to go to cancel it, THEN you would go to the main immigration office out at the government complex on Chaengwattana Road

Looks like you got that visa/extension re-entry permit at the Cham Churi Square One Stop Service Center here in Bangkok.

You cancel this Extension of Stay at the same office where you got it.

Cancel your Work Permit, can be done in advance, with the last day 30 June 2020, Take the documents for cancel Work Permit and visit the Immigration Office and cancel this Extension of Stay and directly apply for a new Extension of Stay based on being over 50 years of age. You have to do this between today and 30 Jun 2020

As you cancel your stay and apply directly for a new stay make sure you have all the documents needed, advice is to pick up the hand out with requirements and double check all is there on the day you go.

After the new Extension of Stay is stamped in your passport you can apply for the Multiple Re-Entry Permit.

I have the requirements from the Thai immigration website ... but I also saw that sometimes med cert is required and sometimes not- hence my question

That is why I advice to visit the Immigration Office and ask for the hand out with requirements as that list is up to date and correct for the office where you apply. Even adjusted to only the documents that you need for your application and best part is, IF you do not understand a document you can ask what they mean. It is the most easy option to get an Extension.
