TLDR : Answer Summary
There seems to be confusion regarding the timing of renewing a Non-O retirement extension in Thailand. One user mentioned that you can apply for a renewal up to 45 days before the current stamp expires, while others clarified that it's acceptable to renew at any time as long as it's at least 45 days or less before the expiration. A daily fine for early renewal is not applicable, and the process can be done even on the day of expiration.

I just (today) renewed my Retirement extension, three days before the old one expired.

Is it a year from the date you renew or a year from current stamp?

I almost always renew mine 30 days before expiry. I have also done it 15 days before due to being overseas. Si Rach immigration. No issues.

No, that is not correct! In Chaiyaphum, you can do your extension no earlier than 45 days before your current permit expires.πŸ‘Œ

I think you had a "lost in translation" moment.. You can apply for a new yearly extension when you have 45 days or LESS left on the current stamp <- meaning you can do it right down until the day the stamp expires.

There is no do it BEFORE rule and no fine for doing it before your current stamp runs out (even if it's the day the stamp expires)

also you're not renewing anything, extensions are for a year at a time, then they're done, you're applying for a NEW yearly extension πŸ™‚
