TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around the rules for renewing a retirement visa in Thailand, specifically the timings for the application related to the passport's stamped date. It is clarified that one must apply for the extension between 45 days before the stamped date and up to that date, with no allowance for late applications without penalties. Additional confusion around related processes, such as the 90-day report, is also mentioned.

Apologies guys. My missus has been in and out of hospital the last few months. I’ve been as crook as a dog as well. My brain is just frazzled at the moment and things just aren’t coming out right.

Just a thought and trying to help, I think you might be confusing things with the 90 day report, which you can submit after your due date.

Perhaps post a photo of what you are trying to renew

thank you. Yes. I remember reading on here in the past something about 15 days before or up to 7 days after was permissible. It must have got the 90 day report and yearly renewal of retirement visa confused. So if my yearly retirement renewal date in my passport is the 21st of April …. That is the latest day I can go ?

/2022. My post today was because my wife is ill and has to go for intravenous (3-4 hours) every day, which we thought would end today. But they did blood and urine tests this morning and she has to continue the intravenous treatment for the next 3 days.

if I were you, I would find a way to go before the last day. Either tomorrow or Wednesday, in case there is anything else you need to get the stamp. Otherwise you'll be pile of pain and need to all start over again. Best of luck

Thank you all for hearing me out. And your advice and supportive comments.

I wish I could do as you suggested. But I had a lot of trouble last April with regards to the Transferwise labeling of international funds. My wife doesn’t understand all of this stuff so we spoke to our youngest daughter who speaks good English and has a friend who is up with immigration procedures. She also has an amazing “gift of the gab” . So she said she would come with us on Thursday. She cannot come on Tuesday or Wednesday because of heavy work commitments. I’ve generated some documentation that my daughter may be able to explain to the officer that my funding is a legitimate international transfer.

there is no after - just like Robert said, between 45 days before and this stamped date

Terminoligy could do some help.

You can not apply for a NEW Extension of Stay based on being over 50 years of age after the last date stamped in your passport as permitted up to.

You have to apply between 45 days before and this stamped date.

I’m renewing my retirement visa. 5th time.

I just need to know the time parameters before and after the date that immigration stamped in my passport.
