How long can DTV visa holders stay outside Thailand without issues?

I know that with the DTV visa we’re required to leave Thailand at least twice a year, before every 180 days. I just want to ask if anyone knows how long we can stay outside the country each time. I might need to return to my home country for 3–4 months to settle some business matters. Would it cause any issues with immigration when I re-enter Thailand after being away that long? Is there any specific rule about this situation for DTV visa holders?

Stay out as long as you want but if you are on soft power with classes and missing them then you might run into trouble as people on education visas did.
