What are the challenges of obtaining a DTV visa in Thailand with a Muay Thai membership?

Hi, I’ve just applied for DTV visa with proof of my Muay Thai membership which has 4 years left. Although I purchased it in 2020 and it started last year from the day of my first training. Hoping they don’t go off the date it was emailed to me.

But you have to pay £300 before sending it off so has anyone had any problems with it being rejected? It says you can’t get your money back in that case

Membership won't work, your gym must be approved for this visa and have all of their licenses up to date. Ask Sharon at

if you need it in pattaya area ... She's done a lot and has all of the information.

thanks although it seems pointless if I have to pay loads of money to a gym I won’t be attending. Might as well just do border runs for alot cheaper

Yes I brought it during Covid for very cheap (they needed money). And I started it last year so it runs until December 2028

yes I already paid and sent it off last night. Surely they will give me some chance because of how long my membership is right?

was it the sinbi Muay Thai 5 year membership? I remember them doing it in covid?

@Adam *********
That doesn’t make sense, you bought a 5 year membership ?

Can’t see a gym membership working. You will need to have approved training with the length of course stated by the gym and which days you will attend. This will need to be invoiced and paid up front

why’s it so limited to a course?

I’m a professional fighter and I’ve seen people just get 1 month course and get accepted. Seems like an unfair loop hole.

Are you getting paid for any of the fights and if so do they take place in Thailand

I get paid to fight here in the UK, but yes I also fight when in Thailand but don’t really get much money over there

In which case you wont be getting a DTV visa as ALL income must be from online working online and you CANNOT have any income from within Thailand or have Thai customers.

interesting, although I make my actual income elsewhere. When I fight that’s just extra income so could easily not accept it while there

That's why I am going to Taipei, to hand it in personally.
