Hi all, just returned from a short trip to Bali. Here on a non-immigrant O visa, with Thai wife extension of stay. Do I need to do the TM30 thing again because I left BKK for a week ?

TLDR : Answer Summary
After traveling abroad, it is generally required to file a new TM30 report if you are returning to Thailand, especially if you have checked out from your previous accommodation. However, there are exceptions if you are returning to your primary residence where a TM30 is already filed.

Yes. You need a new TM30. Technically speaking a new TM30 is needed each time after you checked out from a hotel or hostel in Thailand.

It's not really correct. And enforcement varies in each immigration office. Check

IF I was to guess I'd say yes, go file a new TM30 as you came in from abroad

BUT they did change the rule a while back that said IF you're comin' back to your primary residence <- the one you have a TM30 filed at (even from traveling abroad) you don't need to another one.

All I can say for certain is you MIGHT need to do a new one ๐Ÿ˜•

I always do the TM30 each time I come in, in case I fall foul of someones interpretation of the rules.

yeah, I have the TM30 lodged here for my current residence. Bloody confusing with all these rule changes !

they never really changed the rule, only the enforcement of it ๐Ÿ™

If you're on the online system just log in and file a new TM30, personally I would go do a new one, but that's me, AND just so you know the TM30 filing (Counter B) is back at Chaengwattana main immigration office
